Moms Roundtable coffee cup

In this Moms Roundtable, myself and fellow parenting coaches Claire Grant and Mary Moore discuss one mother’s question of how to trust her teenage daughter who she knows is lying to her.

Among the three of us, we have raised ten children and helped thousands of parents of teens in our professional lives as members of the Family Education department at Hyde School. We can assure you there is probably no scenario for which we have not had previous experience.

We tell this mom to not worry about the fact that she doesn’t trust her, and to move on, accept the fact that her teen is lying to her, and confront the issue. We suggest asking your teen the bigger issue – WHY are they lying?

Is our advice helpful? Do you struggle with this issue and have had success in solving it? Let us know in the comment section below.
